A new opportunity is available for a Senior Bioinformatics/Statistical Data Analyst to join a market leading bio-pharmaceutical organisation. This prestigious R&D department hopes to identify an experienced bioinformatics scientist with proven data analysis experience in Perl, R and Matlab, to push forward the analysis of large scale biological data sets.
Your key responsibilities will involve applying your expertise in the analysis of data generated from microarray experiments and a variety of other genomic tools. As the Bioinformatician / Computational Biologist, you will be expected to contribute to the designing of experiments and the development of analysis pipelines for handling large quantities of biological data.
The ideal candidate will be educated to a PhD level in bioinformatics, computational biology or biostatistics with a proven background in Perl, Matlab, 'R' and Bioconductor libraries. It is essential that you have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability/interest in mentoring more junior Bioinformaticians within the team.
To succeed in this post, he/she will be familiar with a wide range of methods and techniques used for the statistical analysis of data generated by NGS & microarray gene expression experiments; with exceptional communications skills and the ability to work on a variety of projects with scientists from a range of disciplines.
