Our client is a leading research and development group in genomic analyses, supporting new technology tools used in a range of scientific and analytical applications. They are looking for a Client Liaison Scientist to analyse and present data to world-renown external research groups as part of their collaborative responsibilities. These collaborations are at the forefront of research fields, and will enable the development of novel methods and improvements of existing methods for data analysis of genomic data. Subsequently, these collaborative findings will be reported to in-house teams to implement optimisation of analysis tools for biological and clinical users.
This role requires clear communications and ability to interact with scientists from varied backgrounds. Further attributes that are needed are: customer-focussed; team-orientated; self-motivated; and enjoyment to work in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Requirements:
- Strong academic history – MSc or PhD (preferred) in bioinformatics, life sciences, mathematics, or statistics. Must have knowledge of biology background for analyses.
- Experience in in silico genetics, especially analysis and visualisation of DNA sequence data.
- Demonstrable scripting experience using Perl or Python on UNIX / Linux. Any experience with R would be highly desirable.
- Experience with open-source bioinformatics tools and applied statistics.
- Strong problem solving skills and algorithm development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills.
