The Position is one of a series of positions that the university will establish in the broad areas of genomics, bioinformatics, genomic statistics, and molecular genetics. This position will develop research and teaching capacity in: i) genome sequencing and analysis, ii) the environmental constraints on genomic variation in microbial populations, and iii) data science, including statistical and programming skills to leverage large data sets by integrating remotely-sensed environmental data with next-generation microbial population and community genomics studies. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an extramurally funded, independent research program; to contribute to the Department's academic programs; and to participate in interdisciplinary programs, including Genomics & Bioinformatics and Food Safety. The successful applicant will carry a 60% research and 40% teaching appointment
