Dr. Jarrod Marto of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School is recruiting a creative and highly motivated bioinformatics engineer for the Blais Proteomics Center (http://blais.dfci.harvard.edu/). The successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance, mass spectrometry-based proteomic data-analytic pipelines and visualization systems. This is a full-time, on-site position that includes frequent interaction with graduate students and research associates for experimental design and various data-analytic tasks.

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a world-leader in clinical cancer care and basic research, and has committed substantial laboratory space and resources for the Blais Proteomics Center.


Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this full-time position will have a degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field, with a solid foundation in statistics. Preference will be given to those candidates with applied programming experience, particularly in analysis of high-throughput molecular data in general, and mass spectrometry-based proteomic data in particular. A working knowledge of software development is also desirable. In addition the candidate should possess strong multi-tasking capabilities, thrive in a multi-disciplinary research environment, and proactively contribute to maintenance of the Center's computational infrastructure. The primary coding environment for this position is Python and C++/C#. Candidates should also have working knowledge of Adobe Flex, R and SQL.


Schedule
Full Time Flexible
The hours of this position will vary to meet deadlines in order to complete experiments and achieve project goals in a timely fashion.
